The Role
Accolade Wines is expanding its production operations to include an additional shift operation on one of our glass lines. As a Packaging Line Operator, you will be an essential part of our production team, ensuring the efficient and timely production of Glass products that meet our high-quality standards. The position reports into the Packaging Shift Manager and is based at our State of the Art Packaging facility in Berri, South Australia. We are looking for individuals who are eager to develop new skills and contribute to continuous improvement. We're looking for a Packaging Line Operator who demonstrates initiative, a strong work ethic, and a passion for mentoring and guiding teams that is looking to take on leadership responsibilities as they grow within the business.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Role Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate and monitor packaging equipment in line with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturer’s specifications to ensure the smooth production of high-quality products.
- Proactively monitor equipment to ensure effective operation. In case of breakdowns or malfunctions, report issues promptly to the Packaging Shift Manager to minimize downtime and ensure continued productivity.
- Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols, procedures, and best practices, ensuring that production targets and quality standards are met.
- Ensure a clean and hygienic working environment that aligns with company policies, procedures, and relevant hygiene standards, contributing to a safe and organized workplace.
- Take part in productivity improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance production processes, productivity, and the overall efficiency of the packaging line.
- Participate in cross-functional training and development initiatives to learn new skills within different areas of the business, from machine operation to quality control.
- Ensure the final product meets required quality standards with minimal defects and maximum efficiency, while continuously looking for ways to improve product quality.
- Comply with safety, food safety and quality requirements
What we are looking for:
• leadership and supervisory experience in a production environment
• a passion for people and the work you do
• familiarity with safety and quality requirements / standards
• excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• ability to communicate effectively with others
• an understanding of production plant and equipment
• good mechanical aptitude is desirable but not essential.
• ability to work a three shift rotation
• forklift licence is desirable but not essential
