Trade Finance Officer

About the role and location

We have a new opportunity for a Trade Finance Officer to join our Shared Services Finance team  at The Park site close to the M5 near Bristol (preferred) or our EMEA Head office in Weybridge.

Your Key Accountabilities

Strategic 
•    Support the Global Process Lead to develop the strategic direction for function by providing advice on any specific requirements, expertise and environments needing additional consideration.
 

Leadership 
•    Build relationships and manage key internal and external stakeholders.
•    Identify and implement business improvement opportunities across all aspects of the end to end customer transactional journey, analyse evaluate and report on the potential and actual efficiencies achieved.
 

Operational
•    Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and team to ensure export work is evaluated and reviewed for continuous improvement
•    Issuing, advising, documents checking, payments, amendments, Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit etc. in accordance with regulations and customer requirements whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
•    Assist with the resolution of customers’ queries and concerns, as well as liaising with and providing advice to internal account and finance colleagues.
•    Support colleagues that are transacting with other bank’s (SWIFT) and maintaining good banking relationships.
•    Technical knowledge of letters of credit, collections, payments, documents checking, guarantees, standby letters of credit and back to back letters of credit.
•    CDCS qualification (Preferably)
•    Relevant experience in specialism (trade finance) - The aptitude to take on board technical knowledge of letters of credit, collections, guarantees, standby letters of credit and back to back letters of credit. (Issuing, amending, maintaining and cancelling of both domestic and foreign Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit, in accordance with regulations and customer requirements whilst adhering to strict deadlines.)
•    Support colleagues and offshore procure to pay teams as a point of escalation within time zone as issues arise.
 

Administrative 
•    Develop and implement processes to ensure export documentation is completed compliantly, in full and on-time. 
•    Work with internal stakeholder to ensure all products, customs and excise compliance requirements are met in new and existing markets. 
 

About you

You will be able to demonstrate experience in a similar FMCG Export/Import role and have experience in a Procure to Pay function.
Ideally you will have a technical knowledge of letters of credit, collections, payments, documents checking, guarantees, standby letters of credit and back to back letters of credit.
CDCS qualification (Preferably)
The aptitude to take on board technical knowledge of letters of credit, collections, guarantees, standby letters of credit and back to back letters of credit. (Issuing, amending, maintaining and cancelling of both domestic and foreign Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit, in accordance with regulations and customer requirements whilst adhering to strict deadlines.


You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with our Australian colleagues and have the ability to travel between the Bristol and Weybridge sites, if required.
