About the role

Waipara is in North Canterbury and there are 3 vineyards under this Manager’s jurisdiction.  There are just over 200 hectares in total with a mix of varieties grown at these vineyards.

We are seeking an experienced Vineyard Manager who has dedication to growing high quality fruit, maintaining healthy vines, and overseeing a team of 10 full time staff and all contractors and seasonal staff.  Reporting to the NZ Viticulturist you will have graduate qualifications in viticulture, or significant previous experience in vineyard management, particularly in cool climate viticulture.  
 

Required Experience:

•    5 years vineyard management experience.
•    Extensive experience and knowledge of cool climate varietals and viticulture.
•    Supervision of large teams.
•    Experience with frost fighting
•    Pest and disease management.
•    Budget creation and management
•    Irrigation management
