About the Role

Accolade Wines' Barossa winery proudly makes wines for several brands including St Hallett, Grant Burge, Rolf Binder and more. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician provides accurate and timely analytical support to the Winemaking and Cellar teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct accurate and timely general analysis
  • Carry out routine maintenance and internal calibration of equipment
  • Maintain solutions and monitor levels of consumables
  • Maintain housekeeping standards
  • Provide training and coaching to vintage laboratory staff
  • Liaise with winemaking, cellar, viticulture and administration staff as required
  • Utilise Quality Assurance systems to ensure integrity of results
  • Conduct data entry and maintain laboratory records
  • Prepare bottling clearances, file and store associated records and holdback samples
  • Provide external and internal customers with samples as requested

About You

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and perform basic mathematics
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to provide training to seasonal employees
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask


  • A minimum of two years' work experience in a laboratory environment
  • Previous winery laboratory experience (highly desirable)


  • Completion of Chemistry studies at Year 12 level (or equivalent experience)
  • Certificate III Laboratory Skills (desirable)

About the Offer

This is a full-time, permanent role. Extended working hours are required during vintage, which will include weekday and weekend overtime and which may involve shift work.
