About the role


Are you passionate about wine, with excellent customer service skills? Then we have an exciting opportunity to join our St Hallett Cellar Door Team as a Casual Cellar Door Host!


As a Cellar Door Host you will passionately deliver a comprehensive and exceptional wine experience to visitors at the St Hallett Cellar Door. 


In this role, you will be the face of the St Hallett Brand, supporting the Cellar Door Manager to deliver exceptional wine and tour experiences to our visitors, and showcasing some of the finest wines in our portfolio.  


This role is Casual  working 3 shifts a week, across a 7-day roster, with the opportunity for more shifts as required. 

Key responsibilities include:


  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience to cellar door customers, acting as a tour guide, experience host and tasting guide
  • Operate the cash register, including daily opening, closing and balancing duties
  • Promote our wine club membership to visitors and sign up new members
  • Undertake daily housekeeping duties to maintain the cellar door appearance
  • Restock the cellar door and stock room
  • Pick, pack and dispatch wine orders for customers
  • Undertake basic food preparation and serve food  
  • Grow our premium member data base and sales by promoting inhouse activities and our portfolio through telephone marketing
  • Support the Cellar Door Manager to organise and host events that showcase our historic Cellar Door and portfolio

What you’ll bring:


  • Experience in a cellar door or the wine industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and with a team
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol training (RSA)
  • Previous Hospitality and Food handling qualifications or knowledge of safe food preparation and handling
  • Experience with supporting processes for events, functions and wine club promotional activities (highly desirable)
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft suit and EDM software
