About the Role
We are now searching for a Shopper Marketing Manager to be based in Sydney to create and implement our Shopper Marketing Strategy involving direct collaboration with Endeavour Group (EDG). The Shopper Marketing Manager (EDG) will understand the behaviour of shoppers within the various banners and profitably grow sales by engaging with them through driving insight-led activations on the path to purchase. The Shopper Marketing Manager (EDG) will ensure activations will be executed in line with Country Shopper Marketing Plans and within agreed budgets and will optimise investment for the business and positively impact our brands.
This is a full time, permanent position.
Role Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and deliver comprehensive multi-channel shopper marketing strategies and annual activation plans based on shopper insights, ensuring the right message reaches the right shopper at the right time, on budget, and in alignment with channel and market profitability
- Develop shopper campaigns and customer plans in collaboration with Endeavour Group, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Influence and present to key decision-makers to ensure alignment and effective execution
- Continuously explore new trends in shopper behaviour, technology, and retail innovations that could enhance the shopper marketing strategy
- Work collaboratively with category, marketing, sales and finance leads to recommend the optimal annual shopper marketing strategy for banner groups in line with the comapny business strategy and annual planning process timeline
- Provide strategic input into the channel by working closely with category, marketing, sales, and finance leads to recommend the optimal shopper marketing strategy for the Channel, ensuring alignment with Accolade’s business objectives and annual planning timelines
- Lead and deliver beginning to end multi-channel shopper marketing campaigns within the banner groups that span the entire shopper journey and are based on shopper insights
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including Endeavour Group, and agencies to ensure the smooth execution of campaigns, while serving as the primary point of contact for retailer feedback and adjusting marketing strategies to drive mutual business growth
- Ensure on-going customer understanding and continually building strategic relationships with key marketing and retailer contacts
- Ensure shopper marketing campaigns have clear and measurable objectives with meaningful budgets to ensure positive return on investment for the customer and business
- Provide the Sales team with key selling tools, including trade presentations, brand info sheets, and branded point of sale/collateral, ensuring alignment with Endeavour Group’s needs
- Regularly visit the trade and engage with digital retail platforms to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the market, competitor activity, and consumer trends, ensuring a proactive response to shifts in consumer behaviour.
- Collaborate closely with external agencies to successfully deliver shopper marketing projects, ensuring all efforts align with Endeavour Group’s objectives and guidelines
- Adapt and support the organisation through times of change
What You'll Bring
- University degree in business, marketing or related discipline
- Wine knowledge & passion
- Strong leadership skills and proactive
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG (wine/liquor preference) / FMCG with at least 3 of these years in BTL marketing
- Business and financial acumen
- Persuasive selling skills
- Proven project management skills, delivery of campaigns on time and within budget
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and meet challenging deadlines
- Previous experience with key customers
- Managing internal and external senior stakeholders
- Experience in driving recommendations and influencing for results
- Demonstrable experience in operational and creative development of Below the Line programmes and an understanding of what motivates shoppers
- Experienced in Aztec and advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong sustainable business relationships at various levels throughout organisation and with customers
