About the role

 

Reporting to the Head of Customer Marketing, with line management of a Category Executive, the Category Strategy Manager will lead strategic engagement internally and with key customers, contribute to best in class joint business plans, present growth opportunities with detailed recommendations, and provide mentorship across the broader category team.

Key responsibilities include

 

  • Drive sustainable, profitable growth through development and execution of category strategies
  • Lead strategic engagement with key customers, including formulation of best in class Joint Business Plans and range review deliverables
  • Manage key strategic category projects that identify growth opportunities (for Accolade and customers) with detailed recommendations and quantification of size of prize
  • Support Head of Customer Marketing as 2IC, providing mentorship to develop capability of wider Category Team
  • Drive understanding & use of available category decision support tools by internal teams
  • Champion shopper insights and develops a shared shopper vision internally and externally
  • Champion ‘future thinking’ within Accolade, ensuring the business is well positioned to unlock new growth

What you'll bring

 

  • 5+ years in Category Management, ideally within the FMCG or Liquor space ready to step up
  • Additional experience in national sales management, brand / shopper marketing, or data analysis also well regarded
  • Excellent persuasive presentation, influencing, negotiation, and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and meet challenging deadlines 
  • Excellent stakeholder management- we want someone with energy and passion that can bring others along the journey
  • Data analysis & strategic planning expertise. You can find actionable insights buried within the data.
  • Knowledge of Australian liquor market will be highly regarded
  • University degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business or a related discipline
