We have a great opportunity for a Category Executive to support and drive the Category strategy for the business. This role is commercially and analytically focused, partnering with the Category Strategy Manager, and wider category, sales and marketing teams to build awareness of category risks and opportunities to grow within our customer portfolio.


This role is Full-time, Permanent, and based in Sydney.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Support the design and delivery of a short to medium term category activation plan within designated customers on our focus categories across range, merchandising and promotions
  • Identify the key drivers of category performance and highlight the risks and opportunities to our priority customers
  • Support the creation and delivery of the organisation's category vision
  • Work with the Brand, Insight and Sales teams to create compelling category selling stories
  • Learn to develop relationships on a day-to-day basis and support the Category Strategy Manager in managing the needs and expectations of immediate internal and external customers 
  • Influence both internal and external stakeholders through insight
  • Help to develop critical category business questions with the customer to stimulate relevant research


 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • 2-3 years of experience in sales and category in an FMCG or similar category environment  
  • Excellent communications skills – you love what you do!
  • Planning, project management and organisational skills to develop presentations, project briefs and help manage agencies to deliver specified outcomes
  • Experience working with Category development and/or Insights teams, sales executives, and sales representatives
  • Excellent data analysis skills - competent in Microsoft Office plus other agency or retailer specific software (e.g. planogram, Kantar IRI, Nielsen)
