We are now recruiting for a Senior Commercial Analyst – Independents Off Premise to join our global Finance team. In this role you will be reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager and working as part of a small team, providing financial and commercial insights into the profit performance of the Independent customers. Working closely with our Finance and Sales teams, you will be partnering to develop budgets, forecasts and support management in making informed business decisions. 


You will be based in our modern Sydney CBD office, with flexibility to work from home.


This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Critically analyse and provide recommendations on trade spend investment proposals 
•    Support account teams to complete pre and post event modelling, providing insight on what worked and what didn’t and identifying actionable learnings 
•    Analyse depletions sales, including wholesaler stock levels, variances and trends
•    Develop and drive continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, operational analysis, and forecast
•    Complete month end including reconciliations and manual journals in a timely manner
•    Support the business’ annual budget, monthly re-forecast and weekly outlook processes 
•    Build strong relationships across the organisation to work in partnership with our Finance and Sales teams
•    Ensure strong hands-on financial controls and appropriate processes and procedures are in place, with an emphasis on trade spend
•    Ensure integrity of indirect sales and claims data by leading data admin process 
 

What you’ll bring:

•    4-7 years professional experience in similar role
•    FMCG and / or wine industry knowledge experience will be highly regarded
•    Analytical experience in a medium / large, multi-product business with strong problem-solving abilities
•    Understanding of direct/indirect sales analysis (primary/secondary sales, ex-factory/depletions)
•    Pricing (trade spend) management experience in a commercial organisation
•    A history of contributing to financially sound business improvements
•    Strong Excel and Power BI skills required
•    Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or similar
•    CPA/CA qualified or studying towards
•    Autonomy and the flexibility to execute on strategy as well as deliver excellent hands-on work
•    Proactivity, excellent organisational skills and a passion for wine!
