Quality Assurance & Packaging Development Officer

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Quality Assurance and Packaging Development Officer to join the Quality team at Reynella, South Australia.
This role plays an integral part in the coordination and implementation of the Quality and Food Safety Systems, ensuring compliance with Accolade Wines internal policies, operational standards and statutory obligations.    This integral role leads the HACCP team and assists with maintaining BRC, ISO9001 and HACCP accreditations. 

Role Details

Reporting to Quality Assurance Manager - ANZ, this role has no direct reports.

Your Key Accountabilities

•    Report to the Quality Assurance Manager any deviation from contracts relating to bottling and packaging on behalf of Accolade Wines 
•    Review and maintain Dry Good specifications in conjunction with Product Development and Brand Managers, 
•    Conduct dry good assessment from customer complaints and complete, in a timely manner, the details in RMSS logged investigations. 
•    Develop and maintain a strong liaison with Suppliers. 
•    Assist in the verification of Defective Dry Goods and ensure notification is given to the Suppliers or contractors buying on Accolade’s behalf. 
•    Ensure effective follow up of Defective Dry Good notifications with Suppliers. 
•    Facilitate dry goods and finished product technical investigations 
•    To ensure compliance of contract packers to the Quality Manual 
•    External Auditing of contract packers and suppliers and Internal audits as required 
•    Reference sample audits and product audits 
•    Involved in the Continuous Improvement programs with our Contract Packers.
•    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and mandatory packaging requirements for domestic and export markets including GS1 And barcode requirements.
•    Record, interpret and present data for all dry good trials and advise relevant departments of the outcome.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a sound working knowledge of Quality, Food Safety and HACCP systems along with internal auditing experience.  You will also have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in packaging in the wine / beverage industries.  This role requires a person with excellent verbal and written communication skills along with technical problem solving abilities.  It would be advantageous for you to have Lead Assessor ISO / HACCP Systems experience / qualifications.
