About the Role

The Cellar Manager is responsible and accountable for the efficient and effective performance of operational activities at Accolade Wines’ Houghton winery, leading and managing the performance of the cellar team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Actively lead the cellar team
  • Manage the performance and behaviours of team members
  • Create and maintain rosters
  • Develop and enact work plans (in conjunction with the winemakers)
  • Review and maintain SOPs
  • Manage chemical and additive supplies, including hazard/chemical registers and carrying out stock takes
  • Ensure the cellar team adheres to safety, environment and HACCP policies and procedures
  • Role model safety behaviours for the cellar
  • Actively contribute to the site SEQ committee
  • Identify clear and achievable development plans for team members
  • Assist the Senior Winemaker / Manager to develop and maintain operating budgets, develop future capital plans and create capital investment requests

About You

You are skilled in operations management, with strong problem-solving, decision-making, influencing, communication and presentation skills. You are compuer literate and can manage projects and implement change. You are team-oriented, with skills and experience in leading and developing others.

Ideally, you have knowledge of wine production processes.

You hold a valid driver's licence, and have the flexibility to work extended hours during the peak vintage period.
