About the Role

The Cellar Hand works as part of a team to carry out cellar operations and ensure quality wine production.

Key Accountabilities

  • Follow directions as provided by the Cellar Manager and winemakers
  • Carry out cellar operations tasks as assigned:
    • Vintage operations including crushing, pressing, juice additions and fermentation
    • Cellar operations including wine transfers, blending, filtration and clarifying
    • Record data on log sheets or operations notes
  • Maintain general winery cleanliness and hygiene

About You

You have experience carrying out cellar operations duties in a small- to medium-sized winery.

You can demonstrate a passion for wine, good written and spoken English language skills, enthusiasm and reliability and a mature approach to work.

You are flexible to work extended hours (inlcuding shift work and weekend overtime) during the peak vintage period.

You hold a current high risk work (HRW) licence for forklift, or you're willing to obtain one. Ideally you have confined space entry accreditation. A certificate-level qualification in wine industry operations will be viewed favourably.
