Hardys Tintara Winery is one of the oldest wineries in McLaren Vale with a rich history of producing some of the most iconic wines in Australia. Focusing on high quality winemaking, Tintara produces wines for some of Australia’s leading wine brands including Hardys, Tintara and Reynella. The winery features a combination of cutting edge and old world technology and processes fruit for the production of red, white and sparkling wines.


As a Vintage Laboratory Assistant / Cellar Hand, your main duties will be to undertake analysis of juice and wine in accordance with laboratory procedures, as well as general winery operations within the cellar, for the vintage period. This role will commence around early February 2025.
 

Key responsibilities:

Some of the tasks you may be involved in include;
•    Undertake testing of all juices and wines and report anything not within specification
•    Undertake data entry and assist with transcription and checking of analysis
•    Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
•    Undertake vintage cellar operations, including grape receival, crushing, fermentation activities, barrel work and juice or wine transfers
•    Record data on log sheets or cellar notes
•    Maintain general laboratory and winery cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping
•    Follow direction as provided by Winemakers and experienced laboratory and cellar staff
•    Ensure that laboratory operations and cellar operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner; adhering to company policies and procedures at all time
 

What you'll bring:

Essential;


•    Full working rights – visa holders included
•    Good communication
•    Literacy and numeracy skills
•    Ability to work rotating shift work (possible weekends also)
•    Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks, and the ability to work outdoors, at heights and in confined spaces

 

Desirable;


•    Previous wine industry experience
•    Forklift Licence
•    Confined space ticket
•    Year 12 Chemistry or Laboratory AQF qualifications
