Role Details

Hardys Tintara Winery is one of the oldest wineries in McLaren Vale with a rich history of producing some of the most iconic wines in Australia. Focusing on high quality winemaking, Tintara produces wines for some of Australia’s leading wine brands including Hardys, Tintara and Reynella. The winery features a combination of cutting edge and old world technology and processes fruit for the production of red, white and sparkling wines.

We're currently looking to fill multiple Vintage Cellar Hands roles on a seasonal casual basis, to commence around early February 2024.

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Undertake testing of all juices and wines and report anything not within specification
  • Undertake data entry and assist with transcription and checking of analysis
  • Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Maintain general housekeeping and cleanliness of the laboratory
  • Follow direction as provided by experienced laboratory staff
  • Ensure that laboratory operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner; adhering to company policies and procedures at all time
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Participate in training as required

Your Knowledge and Skills

  • A passion for wine
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong numeracy and mathematical reasoning skills
  • Enthusiasm, reliability and energy
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of team
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Essential Qualifications

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Essential;

    • Full working rights – visa holders included
    • Good communication
    • Literacy and numeracy skills
    • Ability to work rotating shift work (possible weekends also)
    • Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks, and the ability to work outdoors, at heights and in confined spaces
  • Desirable;
    • Previous wine industry experience
    • Forklift Licence
    • Confined space ticket
