Role Details

The Banrock Station Ranger Ecologist works with the Banrock Station Wetland Manager to implement the Banrock Station Management Plan.

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver on ground monitoring and implementation of the Banrock Station Management Plan
  • Sustain the ecological character values of the Ramsar wetland accreditation
  • Perform duties as an ambassador to promote the organisation's endeavours and environmental achievements
  • Conduct ecotourism, education and awareness activities including development of interpretive materials
  • Supervise contractors and volunteers in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Operate the native plant nursery to support on-site landscape restoration activities
  • Maintain walking trail infrastructure in accordance with site access and safety policy

Other Accountabilities Include

  • Actively engage in and comply with all Accolade Wines SEQ policies and  procedures

Your Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Familiarity with water management in the Murray Darling Basin
  • Understanding of seed collection, propagation and revegetation practises
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Essential Qualifications

  • Hands on experience with general repairs and maintenance including the use of power tools
  • Experience in biodiversity monitoring and reporting
  • Experience or knowledge of an integrated approach to pest management

Physical and Other Requirements


  • Diploma of Natural Resource Management or similar
  • SA driver's licence (and ability to drive a manual vehicle)
  • Working with children police check (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Chemical use accreditation (or willingness to obtain)

  • Boat licence
  • Chainsaw accreditation
  • Quad bike accreditation
