Key Account Manager- Off Trade

About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join our Hong Kong team at our office based in Hong Kong reporting to the General Manager of North East Asia. You will manage the account relationship with AS Watson, Dairy Farm and 2nd tier supermarkets and retailers to maximise our range in store, agree joint promotional plans and regularly track performance with quarterly business reviews and insights. In order to succeed you will need to be a self-starter with a high level of planning and prioritisation with a consistent record of delivering sales budgets and ambitious growth.

This is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and manage key relationships with key retailers to deliver against joint commitments and deliver budget and over and above sales results.
  • Agree joined up business plans with retailers and distributors to deliver mutually agreed sales forecasts in line with budget. 
  • Manage the annual promotional calendars with retailers ensuring promotional frequency and price, adjusting to ensure we are consistently promoting at the right price point.
  • Implement programs with retailers developed from both internal marketing objectives, and in-store needs identified by insights and analysis.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with all customers.
  • Actively generate sales opportunities, and ensure expenses are in line with budgeted requirements.
  • Maintains business reporting in line with agreed deadlines including: demand planning, marketing spend, shipment forecast, customer depletion data.
  • Manage instore promotion staff and merchandisers in partnership with the local agency.
  • Generate insights from market reports and regularly share updates on brand performance, market share and competitor activity.
  • Consolidate and track depletions, forecasts, shipments and marketing budget keeping trackers up to date on a monthly basis.
  • Ensuring demand forecast is up to date and working with supply chain to ensure stock is available to meet customer demand.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, bringing in field and account insights to the table fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Supporting the Trade Marketing Manager to implement programs with retailers developed from both internal marketing objectives, and in-store needs identified insights and analysis.

About You

  • High level interpersonal skills
  • Ideally you will have ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations
  • University degree in business, marketing or related discipline preferred but not essential.
  • Wine knowledge & passion.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in liquor (wine preference ) / FMCG in a key account role is essential.
  • Demonstrable understanding in operational and creative development of BTL programmes.
  • An understanding of digital marketing and ecommerce is desirable.
  • You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with our Australian and European colleagues and have the ability to travel if required
