About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Commercial Sales team. If you are passionate about following new business opportunities and adaptable to change, this is the role for you. 

Reporting to the SA/NT Field Sales Manager and Sales Manager SA/WA, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a territory of customers, sourcing new business opportunities, and delivering product growth and profitability.

In this exciting role, you will undertake regional trips and attend events and tastings while gaining exposure to different portfolios and stakeholders.

This full-time permanent opportunity which is field based. 

Key responsibilities include:


  • Deliver growth through completing cycle tasks in order to drive compliance and distributions within your customer base.
  • Successfully manage a territory of customers and average call rates (independent on/off premise)
  • Sourcing new business opportunities along the journey plan  
  • Deliver product growth and helping to drive profitability through ranging mix of products in stores
  • Understanding of category and shopper insights with retailers to educate and implement key strategies  
  • Negotiate directly with key business and decision makers across on/off premise 
  • Development plans formulated and executed in conjunction with Sales Manager / Field Sales Manager.

What you’ll bring:


  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in liquor (wine preference) or FMCG at field level
  • Demonstrable understanding of the Wine industry
  • Strong experience in Business, Marketing or Sales 
  • Basic commercial and business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and meet deadline
