Your Key Accountabilities

•    In conjunction with the Viticulture Manager, SA South East, annually develop a management plan for the Coonawarra vineyards.
•    Manage grape production through exceptional viticultural practices to achieve quality and quantity targets consistent with the annual management plan.
•    Liaise with the Viticulture Manager SA South East, Viticulturist SA South East, winemakers and other key stakeholders, to ensure the required grape quality is achieved.
•    Champion a safety culture for all employees and contractors through Accolade Wines Safety systems.
•    Chair the Coonawarra SEQ meetings and ensure any actions are carried out.

•    Manage Hazards and Incidents via SOLV Safety.
•    Manage Accolade Wines safety systems – Procedures, Risk Assessments and Work Instructions for Coonawarra vineyards.
•    Ensure team members are trained and competent.
•    Manage all employees to achieve good performance and maintain employee morale.
•    Ensure plant and equipment is fit for purpose and maintained in good working order.
•    Build and manage the operational budget for the Coonawarra vineyards, in line with Accolade Wines' expectations.
•    Ensure invoices are allocated in accordance with the budget and are paid on time
•    Manage the CAPEX programme for company vineyards, through CIF submission and purchasing.
•    Maintain the Fixed Asset Register for Coonawarra vineyards.
•    Ensure that accurate records and statistics are kept and maintained on company IT platforms.
•    In conjunction with the Viticulture Manager, SA South East and Viticulturist SA South East, construct a redevelopment budget and plan for the Coonawarra vineyard.
•    Manage the vineyard revelopment project to achieve best practice vineyard establishment with the available resources.
•    Work on company improvement projects as required.
•    Manage the grounds surrounding the Katnook Winery and Cellar Door.
•    Keep the Viticulture Manager, SA South East informed of all matters relevant to the management of company vineyards.
•    Provide a written monthly report on major vineyard activities to the Viticulture Manager, SA South East.
•    Carry out any other tasks or responsibilities that may from time to time be requested by the Viticulture Manager, SA South East.
 

Other Accountabilities Include

•    Ensure that all accountable functions operate in compliances with the relevant internal and external regulatory requirements, including but not limited to the Company code of conduct, ISO, BRC, TSO, EHO, HMRC, HSE, etc.
•    Lead all personnel and ensure they have an effective understanding of our business, its processes, objectives, standards, measures and the impact their personal performance has on these measures.

Essential Qualifications

•    Cert III in Viticulture

 

Required Experience:

•    Minimum of 5 years practical industry experience
•    Experience in vineyard operations required
•    Experience in a similar role (highly desirable)
•    Experience in vineyard development (highly desirable)
•    Computer literacy
•    Previous experience in leading a team
•    Basic financial literacy (budgeting and controlling expenses)
•    Understanding of SEQ requirements for vineyards
•    Strong understanding of winery operations and production processes
