About the role

We are now recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our Supply Chain and Operations Team.  In this role, you will identify new packaging contract pack customers, predominantly in the wine category, with a view to optimise our packaging capacities.  You will use your technical expertise in packaging and distribution to negotiate and agree on terms of business with customers and establish new ways of working to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.  

You will be based in our Adelaide CBD office, with flexibility to work from home.

This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Full management of the Contract Pack/3PL for packaged wine to achieve strategic objectives and financial targets. 
•    Host and showcase Accolade Wines packaging and distribution sites to visitors.
•    Creation of unique selling proposition and appropriate sales approach/materials.
•    Develop and broaden relationships with existing customers, while identifying and qualifying new opportunities to maximise potential.
•    Build and maintain a record of up & coming tenders over 3 to 4 year horizon.
•    Build cost models for new opportunities and maintain on-going cost structures as part of any contracts gained.
•    Responsible for assessing technical feasibility as a result of ‘new business’ – centred on packaging design and capability.
•    Drive the team to a continuous improvement mind-set and developing and simplifying processes.

What you’ll bring:

•    Proven experience in a packaging environment within the drinks industry and current knowledge of the Contract Pack Market.
•    Packaging, production and technical expertise.
•    Strong Project Management expertise.
•    Exceptional customer service skills and ability to respond and act quickly to new opportunities.
•    Strong Commercial Acumen, financial awareness and negotiation skills.
•    Degree or equivalent education.
•    Innovative with a collaborative style and a passion for wine!
