About ‘The Park’

Accolade Wines’ UK manufacturing facility ‘The Park’ is a multi-award winning bottling facility, employing almost 400 people and producing 25 million 9L case equivalents of wine each year. Our state of the art manufacturing and blending plant has the ability to package an extensive range of formats, from 187ml to 1.5L in glass bottles, plastic bottles, cans and bag in box, through to 1.5L to 10L casks.  With six packaging lines and the capacity to produce 1,200 bottles of wine every minute, The Park is also home to the largest wine warehouse and distribution centre in Europe (80,000m²). 

About the role

We have a rare opportunity for a Production Engineering Manager to join our Manufacturing Leadership Team at The Park.  A strong people manager you will be empowered to develop, lead and manage a team of multi-disciplinary Production Engineers consisting 4 direct reports and up to 25 indirect reports.  Responsible for ensuring that the production machinery assets operate at the targeted levels of performance, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Working closely in collaboration with the Production Management team to drive innovation in products and processes, whilst seeking continuous improvement across all areas. 

This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Ensuring that all Production Engineers are safely and competently trained to carry out their roles
•    Providing packaging machinery Engineering expertise, to ensure the machinery assets are maintained and operate at optimum levels of efficiency
•    Ensuring that production engineering processes are managed and developed in a manner which achieve the targeted performance measures
•    Reporting and reviewing performance against these measures on a weekly, monthly and annual basis, identifying trends and seeking efficiencies
•    Identifying opportunities for Continuous Improvement in a LEAN environment

What you’ll bring:

•    3+ years’ relevant management experience
•    Qualified Engineer with experience in a fast moving FMCG production environment
•    Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and find solutions 
•    Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to work well under pressure with effective prioritisation
•    Strong team player with great communication skills
