About the role and location

We have a new opportunity for a Bulk Wine Supply Coordinator to join our European Winemaking team  at The Park site close to the M5 near Bristol on a 6 month fixed term contract. 

About the role – Key Accountabilities

This role will support the Bristol-based wine procurement team to ensure the seamless supply of bulk & packaged at source wine, and ultimately the availability of product to our customers. As well as to ensure all wine specification information and systems that are required to allow for efficient and effective vintage roll for all Accolade Wines and Co-pack wines are maintained. This will ensure the wine meets all technical specifications required and those specifications have been communicated prior to the wines arrival at The Park. 

 

  • Complete Bulk Wine Code Set up raising all headers and codes via Lotus notes for all vintage rolls and NPDs
  • Maintenance of Wine Buyers sample spreadsheet.
  • Manage Vintage rolls and mid vintage ABV/allergen changes for intra-company and third party bulk wine. This includes ensuring effective communication throughout the business by sending notifications to facilitate the ordering of materials, ensuring no adverse effect to production plans and compliance to EU Alcohol and allergen labelling regulations. 
  • Ensuring Wine quality preferences are uploaded on JDE, and customer specification and artwork portals prior to offload enabling the tank house to offload wine and the laboratory to analyse against those Quality preferences (wine specifications) 
  • Ensuring Vintage/Wine Information Sheets are present and stored correctly and in a timely fashion for all Accolade wines and co-pack wines to enable processes to be completed prior to the point of loading in the country of origin. 
  • Assist Wine Supply coordinator in maintaining logs of contract reserves and maintenance of supplier catalogue on contract library & JDE.
  • Support keeping all supplier GFSI; SAQ; and other relevant supplier certificates & forms up to date on EQMS, in both support of internal/external audits, as well as supporting the wine procurement teams’ ongoing supplier reports and risk assessments.
  • Maintain logs of wine trials and analysis
  • Arrangement, tracking and appropriate recording of samples where appropriate.
  • Maintain Co-Pack and third party finished goods samples in the references room for blend and quality referral during the year
  • Support in co-ordination, tracking and recording of wine samples from 3rd party suppliers, customers, and intercompany wineries.
  • Support the organisation of company benchmark tastings.
  • Assist in tasting blends and giving feedback as well as tasting offload and post production bottling for faults and style alignment 
  • Requesting Trade samples at vintage roll for all Accolade and Co-pack wines, and ensuring these incoming samples are logged and tracked accurately to ensure no excess duties are required to be paid. Monthly maintenance of the incoming samples cupboard. 

About you

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills coupled with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. 
You will be proficient in database and document analysis with an intermediate to advanced Excel ability.
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to prioritise workload and work well in a fast paced environment. 
Previous experience of working in the wine industry and a knowledge of wine varietals would be advantageous. 

You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with our Australian colleagues and have the ability to travel between the Bristol and Weybridge sites, if required.
