Role Details

Reports to Group Commercial Winemaker.

•    Prepare Blends On time in Full and In Specification
•    Complete monthly Portfolio audits
•    Execute vintage assigned tasks, efficiently and with no negative quality issues

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Elicit winemaking program flexibility to adapt to changing wine conditions and cellar/winery capabilities.
  • Oversee daily Cellar & Laboratory activities, including distribution of Cellar notes and data entry.
  • Lead daily ferment tastings during vintage and ensure timely work order delivery.
  • Make tasting and blending decisions for red & white wines to achieve the desired quality/style.
  • Monitor all responsible brand blends, ensuring compliance with bulk wine, packaging, and bottling requirements.
  • Execute picking decisions in line with intended volume, quality, and style for responsible brands.
  • Propose and prepare tastings/information for customer visits and new product opportunities.
  • Ensure ongoing certification of Risk Management Systems and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

•    Tertiary qualification in Science, Winemaking or Food Technology 
•    Substantial experience in a significant winery or related operation.
