We are now recruiting for a HSE Officer to join our Health, Safety and Environment team.  This role will provide advisory support for the delivery of an effective, integrated approach to maintaining workplace health & safety compliance in accordance with legislation, certification, accreditation and internal governance.  You will support the implementation and maintenance of the environment management system, deliver WHS training and manage work injury claims and return to work processes.

You will be based at our Berri Estates Winery.

This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Provide relevant, sound and timely HSE advice.
•    Conduct workplace assessments, undertake audits and internal investigations.
•    Participate in site meetings and planning activities involving HSE matters.
•    Deliver WHS training and manage training needs and competencies.
•    Issue resolution and corrective action.
•    Development, review and communication of HSE policy, standards, procedures and associated documentation.
•    Identify and implement improvements to operational activities involving workplace health & safety issues.
•    Support the development and maintenance of broader HSE strategic initiatives and programs including sustainability projects.
•    Provide initial advice and management of work injury claims and return to work processes.

What you'll bring:

•    Certificate IV level qualifications in workplace or occupational health & safety.
•    Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment or equivalent. 
•    Certificate level qualifications in environmental management.
•    2 years of operational experience in manufacturing, construction or field-based activities involving WHS and/or Environmental management.
