About the role

We are now recruiting for a Cellar Manager to join our Supply Chain and Operations Team. This role will see you working rotating shifts and is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of the daily work program. You will work in conjunction with the winemaking teams to achieve required quality standards within appropriate time parameters. You will continuously challenge, innovate and improve the overall operation performance through the development of a Lean Culture and operational philosophy ensuring excellent cross-functional relationships are developed and maintained.
You will be based at the Berri Estates Winery in Berri, South Australia. 
This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include

•    Manage all cellar employees in relation to performance, work standards, timekeeping, absenteeism, and adherence to company policies/procedures.
•    Rostering
•    Ensure Cellar hygiene and house-keeping is maintained 
•    Maintain and update Cellar procedures
•    Ensure supervisors follow Cellar operations notes 
•    Liaise with winemakers on operational progress
•    Supervise and enforce the use of PPE

Other Accountabilities Include

•    Ensure Supervisors follow all cellar operation notes, completed and signed.
•    Monitor all processes, coach, train, advise and assist where applicable and evaluate performance.
•    Ensure cellar procedures are updated
•    Ensure rostering of staff is within budget 
•    Conduct routine Audits to ensure cellar operations are carried out in accordance with the work instruction, operation notes and time frame.
•    Liaise with winemakers on the progress of operations being conducted.
•    Supervise and enforce the use of PPE in designated areas at all times. 
•    Highlight any deficiencies or requirements for continuous improvement.
•    Attend training as required.
•    Enact all reporting procedures I.e. Solve Safety, Environmental Management System, Work Health and Safety, Breakdown paperwork etc.
•    Conduct tool box meetings with the cellar teams Weekly.
•    Monitor Return To Work employees

What you'll bring

•    Minimum of 5 year’s experience in a wine or food processing based business
•    Qualifications in Cellar procedures
•    Ability to lead teams in a fast paced work environment.

Physical and Other Requirements

•    Manual Handling
•    Travel as required
