Role Details

Our Barossa winery focuses on producing wines under the St Hallett, Grant Burge Wines and Rolf Binder labels, processing approximately 4000 tonnes from across the Barossa region and beyond, with the primary focus being shiraz.
We're currently looking to fill multiple Vintage Cellar Hands roles on a seasonal casual basis, to commence around early-to-mid January 2024.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Monitor the winemaking program in the absence of other Winemakers
- Drive exceptional levels of winery hygiene and general housekeeping
- Work with a ‘hands on approach’ to creating premium wines
- Oversee grape intake and processing according to supplied schedule
- Conduct press cuts and juice assessments
- Undertake winemaking trials as required
- Ensure the relevant analysis and amelioration of juice/wine on site is performed as required to ensure compliance with wine specifications.
- Participate in the daily ferment tastings during vintage and the subsequent delivery of work orders.
Your Knowledge and Skills
- A passion for wine and winemaking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm, reliability and energy
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team
- Ability to give and follow verbal and written instructions
Essential Qualifications
- Exposure to premium cool climate wine production is essential
- Experience working in a premium winemaking facility (minimum two vintages)
Physical and Other Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in winemaking or a related science
- High Risk Work licence for Forklift Truck (highly desirable but not essential)
